Network Requirements for Each Departments
First Floor
Reception & Lounge
Devices:
- Hosts: 1 computer (or workstation) used by the receptionist.
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 8 ports is required to connect the 1 computer. (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as Audio Studio & Facilities and Game Design & Animation)
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The 8-port switch connected to sub-router 1 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host) using a cable.
Database Management Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 3 computers (or workstations) used by the database administrator, database architecture, and database analyst.
- Other Devices: 1 monitor and 1 printer
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 10 ports is required to connect the 3 computers and the printer. The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer and the printer so that they can communicate with each other within the department. The switch ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the department.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will connect to an 8-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as Audio Studio & Facilities and Game Design & Animation). The switch is then connected to sub-router 1 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Game Design & Animation Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 6 computers (or workstations) used by game designers, artists, and animators.
- Other Devices: 6 monitors and 1 printer
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 10 ports is required to connect the 6 computers and 1 printer. The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer and printer so that they can communicate with each other within the department.
The switch ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the department.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will connect to an 8-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as Audio Studio & Facilities and Database Management Department). The switch is then connected to sub-router 1 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Audio Studio & Facilities Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 2 computers (or workstations) used by the audio engineers.
- Other Devices: 1 monitor
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single 5-port switch is required to connect the 2 computers. The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department.
The switch ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the department.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to an 8-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the Game Design & Animation Department and Database Management Department). The switch is then connected to sub-router 1 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Second Floor
Big Data Analytic & Quality Assurance Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 5 computers (or workstations) used by big data analysts, QA testers, and QA engineers.
- Other devices: 1 monitor
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 10 ports is required to connect the 5 computers in the department. The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department.
It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the department.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the Programming Department and the Beta Testing Area). The switch is then connected to sub-router 2 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Programming Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 4 computers (or workstations) used by gameplay programmers, AI programmers, network programmers, etc.
- Other Devices: 4 monitors
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 12 ports is required to connect the 4 computers in the department. (The switch is shared with Beta Testing Area). The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department.
It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in both departments.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the Big Data Analytic & Quality Assurance Department). The switch is then connected to sub-router 2 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Beta Testing Area
Devices:
- Hosts: 3 computers (or workstations) used by beta testers (Clients).
- Other Devices: 3 monitors
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 12 ports is required to connect the 3 computers in the department. (The switch is shared with Programming Department). The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department.
It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in both departments.

- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the Big Data Analytic & Quality Assurance Department). The switch is then connected to sub-router 2 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Third Floor
Production Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 2 computers (or workstations) used by the producer and project manager.
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 10 ports is required to connect the 2 computers in this department (The switch is shared with Marketing & Publishing and User Research and Analytics Department). The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department.
It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the departments.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the User Research and Analytic Department, Marketing and Publishing Department, and Server & Firewall Area). The switch is then connected to sub-router 3 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Marketing & Publishing Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 1 computer (or workstation) used by the Marketing Manager.
- Other Devices: 1 Printer (For printing marketing materials, reports, or republications).
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 10 ports is required to connect the 1 computer in this department (The switch is shared with Marketing & Publishing and User Research and Analytics Department). The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department. It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the departments.

- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the User Research and Analytic Department, Production Department, and Server & Firewall Area). The switch is then connected to sub-router 3 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
User Research & Analytics Department
Devices:
- Hosts: 2 computers (or workstations) used by the Data Analyst and User Researcher.
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 10 ports is required to connect the 2 computers in this department (The switch is shared with Marketing & Publishing and User Research and Analytics Department). The switch will provide the necessary network ports for each computer so that they can communicate with each other within the department. It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the departments.

- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the Production Department, Marketing and Publishing Department, and Server & Firewall Area). The switch is then connected to sub-router 3 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
Server & Firewall Area
Devices:
- Server: 2 servers to save internal data within the company and data from clients/players' day-to-day operations data.
- Cloud server: 1 cloud server to store players' information.
- Firewall: 1 firewall is required to protect and secure the data and information for the company.
Network Equipment:
- Switch: A single switch with 8 ports is required to connect the servers and firewall. The switch will provide the necessary network ports for them to communicate with each other within the department. It ensures efficient local data transfer between the devices in the department.
Connectivity:
- Router Connection: The switch will be connected to a 5-port switch using a cable (A switch that combines switches in different departments such as the Production Department, Marketing and Publishing Department, and User Research and Analytic Department). The switch is then connected to sub-router 3 to provide a network to switches in each department and send the network to each device (host).
General Network Requirements for All Departments
Connectivity:
- Router Connection:
- Access Points will be set up on each floor to provide a wireless connection between each sub-router and devices (hosts).
- The main router from the ground floor will only be connected to the the sub-router 1.
- The sub-router 2 from the second floor will connected to the sub-router 1 from the ground floor via a wireless WiFi bridge.
- The sub-router 3 from third floor will be connected to the sub-router 2 from second via a wireless WiFi bridge.
- The main router will manage the connection between the department’s local network (LAN) and the broader network, ensuring the routing of data to and from the internet or other departments.
- AP Connection:
- The CCTV will connect wirelessly to Access Point to get network.
